Wal-Mart and PC Gaming

Tonight, I took a adventure down to Wal-Mart with a friend of mine, and I was just checking out some of the newer games out, on the consoles. Just snooping, to see what I should get.

Now is it just me, or does Wal-Mart suck balls? I mean, there game selection sucks for all consoles. Maybe it could be this Wal-Mart isn't a Super Wal-Mart? The people they have working there when it comes to asking questions, really get on my nerves. I don't know why I put a job application at this place, and its this only Wal-Mart I have gone to that sucks. Others, great people, and they somewhat know what they are talking about.

Now I am gonna back about 12 years. When I first got a PC. I remember going to this same Wal-Mart, and they had a huge wall, just for PC games, and a small section of it, was for programs, Anti-Viruses, Operating Systems, the rest, for PC games. Tons and tons and tons of games. Nowdays I go to Wal-Mart, they have this small section. mostly programs like operating systems, and anti-viruses. You wanna know what games they had? World of Warcraft and the expansion packs. The Sims 3, and the expansion pack, and Starcraft 2. Then at the bottom, they had the small cases with, 100 games for 9.99, or some stupid ass games.

This is just crazy. Is PC gaming dying? Or is Wal-Mart just giving PC gamers and companies who make PC games, or companies that build PC's a big FU?

I hope PC gaming isn't dying, because, I spent alot more PC gaming, then consoles. I mean yes I had the consoles when I was younger, but when my parents got a PC, I was hooked to PC games.

Now I haven't been to a EB Games in forever, matter of fact, are mall use to have one, but back then it was called Electronic Boutique, this is back I wanna say 1998? 1999? They had PC games all over the place. and then a wall for console games, and handheld console games, and a bargin bin. Now I wonder what EB Games looks like? Is it still the same? After they shut the one down in the mall. I was angry. I use to spend alot of time in there browsing, and talking games.

Technology has changed alot, especially for gaming. I remember growing up, with Mario, Sonic The Hedgehog, Duke Nukem, Half-Life, Carmageddon, Deer Hunter (yes I played this alot), and now look at gaming. Its crazy, even for being someone my age, and being younger, and looking back at gaming when I was growing up, and then looking at it now. Hell I remember when the Playstation and Nintendo 64 hit. I was amazed by the graphics then.

Well thats the end of this blog. I do have a new review coming out, its Aero The Acrobat for the Super Nintendo. So stay tuned for that.

I do want to leave you with a song though. It is from Shawn Elliott. He use to work for 1up.com, Was on many of the Games For Windows/Computer Gaming World podcasts. Just a funny guy, and he did this hilarious song. I miss GFW :(

Mortal Kombat Rebirth/Mortal Kombat....9?/Crappy Pants/PS3

What a eventful last few days for Mortal Kombat fans huh? More and more about the trailer we seen a few days ago is surfacing. More and more each day I keep hearing that the trailer is for the new movie.

The way it looks, and the more and more I watch the trailer, the more and more I like it. I normally don't go to the movies anymore, because 7 dollars for movies is just complete B.S but I will go see this movie. I cannot wait. Being a big Mortal Kombat fan, I am excited for it.

Now I haven't heard a legit 100% post about this being the movie, but it sure is looking like it. Because even to this day. I have read, that it isn't and that it is.

Today I wake up, and get a message on my MSN Messenger from a good friend of mine, with a trailer to the new Mortal Kombat game. When I seen that I crapped myself...ok not really, but you get the picture. I was like WHOA!!! this game looks badass.

Guess what though? People are already bitching about it. Why? Why bitch about it? It looks great!, I love it! It almost goes retro with the way the stages are setup. I like it. I will get it for PS3, and I will enjoy it. Like I say in my game reviews on fighting games. I might be a button masher, but as long as I have fun, thats all that matters.

I also want to know, are they going to call it Mortal Kombat? or Mortal Kombat 9? and seriously is this the 9th Mortal Kombat game? The others didn't have a number after them. That would be like the Grand Theft Auto Series, after GTA III, they released Vice City, San Andreas, and so on. Hmm, someone should inform someone about this.

Hell I will be honest, the only MK games I didn't care for was Mythologies: Sub Zero, and Mortal Kombat: Special Forces, Mythologies was just a pile of rat crap, Special Forces, ehh its follows close behind. Now as for Shaolin Monks, Deception and Armageddon, all 3 are great. I actually really love to play Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, just wish the story mode was alot longer then it was.

Speaking of crappy pants. I got news on my new review. My newest review will be coming out soon. It will be a short review, of the PC Flash game, "Don't Shit Your Pants" So I thought I would throw that out there for ya :)

So it has been a month and a half since I have touched my PS3, the last time I touched it was to play the Split Second demo, now that game is a awesome game. I need to pick that up. Now you think I would be playing it alot, Hell I have Street Fighter 4, and Batman: Arkham Asylum, It was almost like after I beat Grand Theft Auto 4, I didn't feel like playing anymore. What the hell is wrong with me? haha. Soon though, I will pop Batman: Arkham Asylum in that PS3, and play it. I've only played like 10 to 15 minutes of it. I thought it was great, but I need to play more of it, to get a true opinion.

Well that is it for this blog. I should have the new review out sometime tomorrow, or Saturday. I just have to record some footage, and throw it together and edit. So stay tuned for that. Hope you all have a good rest of today, and all that crazy shit. :)

My Thoughts on the Mortal Kombat Rebirth Trailer

So I just sat down and watched this trailer for Mortal Kombat: Rebirth, and I can tell you, I almost pissed my pants. Seriously, This looks very cool. Its more darker, and grittier then what the first 2 Mortal Kombat movies were.

The blood, the gore, all I can say is wow. I am sold.

One thing did get me though. Baraka....Seriously? Since when did Baraka have hair? the guy looks nothing like Baraka, where is his weird mouth? Come on, if your going to do this on characters of the game, do it right. But, I will give the Baraka character this. He is a bit on the badass side.

As for Reptile, holy crap. That guy is badass as well.

Other then that. I like this, and its funny how people are already bitching and moaning and complaining online, just because of the trailer. I read some comments of people bitching about how there is no Goro, or Liu Kang, or whatever. Its like this is the god damn trailer. They aren't going to show you the whole movie in the trailer.

So does that mean this movie is legit? Is this the real deal? It will be a interesting few days, and going through E3, to see if this is legit. I hope its legit, because MAYBE, JUST MAYBE I will spend my money to go see this movie. I am a huge Mortal Kombat fan, and I would love to see this.
Another reason I like it so much, is it seems the main character is based off of my favorite Mortal Kombat fighter. Scorpion. This is very cool.

Deep Thinking/Thoughts/Musicians Passing Away/Guns N Roses

I hate it when a I cannot sleep. It sucks, right now its 1:30AM, and I am sitting here listening to some music, and trying to relax. I am just in real heavy thinking, I guess you can say deep thought. I should be working on a new review, but I just don't feel like finishing it up tonight. I will work on it tomorrow though. This review was fun to work on. the game is fun as all hell.

Tonight, a good friend of mine called me, who I haven't talked to in almost 4 months, and he was in the area, so I went and hung out with him, drove around raised a little hell AR Productions style....wait a minute I have a style of raising hell? Since when??? I guess you can say its total chaos LOL.

I sit here now, thinking though, thinking about the past few weeks. Some stuff in my personal life, hasn't been the greatest right now, mainly frustration. As for other things, well the passing of 2 musicians I respect, and 1 who I looked up to, and I guess you can say is a hero, kind of shocked me. A few nights ago, I was driving home from a quick drive to clear the mind, and I was listening to the song Neon Knights by Black Sabbath, and at how amazing Ronnie James Dio's vocals are. Even to this day, it still upsetting.

Then this week, Paul Gray of Slipknot dies. Did it hit me as hard as Dio's death? No, but still I was shocked and saddened, as I have respect for Paul and his playing. I also have respect for the band Slipknot, many people don't like them, but I do, I think they are a awesome band. Today the band had a press conference, and watching it was very hard. I will be honest, a few times I fought back tears, now maybe its because of the way things have been lately, between Paul's death, and Dio's death, or maybe it was because I was seeing how close a band can get, even through a tough time like this. Even though they had their times of anger, and fighting towards each other, and sadly a death of a band mate has pulled them guys together. What bothers me the most, is that every time I hear that Paul had a kid on the way, its heart breaking. That is a kid that is never going to see their father. Paul was too young, 38 is way too young in my book.

What about Peter Steele? The guy was a amazing singer/bassist, and sadly his life was cut somewhat short as well. Peter’s voice was unique, and I liked it, I thought it was great. I mean listen to songs like Christian Woman, or many other classic Type O Negative songs…such a amazing vocalist. This has been a horrible few months for the metal community.

I look at it this way though. Could you imagine the Supergroup that is playing up above right now? Randy Rhoads and Dimebag, with Ronnie James Dio on vocals, Paul Gray on bass, and John Bonham on drums? To me that would be a Supergroup, but there are so many other awesome musicians that are up there watching over us all. I just want to say this, just like I have said many times before. Rest In Peace, Peter Steele, Ronnie James Dio, and Paul Gray, you guys will never be forgotten, and your music will live on.

I don’t know what has been with me lately, just doing a lot of deep thinking, and being in deep thought.

So the last few hours, I been listening over a song. Normally I don’t sit and listen to one song, and listen to it over and over. The song is called “Coma” by Guns N Roses.

I have always really liked this song, but there is a certain part of this song, that catches my ear.

If you click that link above, you can listen to the song, and in the last 2 minutes of the song, the lyrics, are very deep, and meaningful. Every time I hear it, I get chills. It’s like Axl Rose just let it all go. Its like he had them lyrics built up, and let it go. Speaking from the mind is what I like to call it. Sadly Guns N Roses are no longer the same GNR they should be.

This song though, is one of my favorite, if not my FAVORITE Guns N Roses song. Just something about it, grabs ahold of you, and makes you think.

Anyways, I just want to end this blog by saying, I hope you guys have a good rest of the week, and weekend. I got quite a bit planned, and what not, and going to hang out with some friends and just have a good time.

As for the new review, hoping to release it sometime this week. So stay tuned for that. I personally think its going to be a great review, but who knows. It might be a total bomb haha.

Rest In Peace, Paul Gray of Slipknot

Today is another sad day in the heavy metal community. This time we lost a very good bass player. Paul Gray of Slipknot was found dead in a Iowa hotel room today.

A pretty sad deal, very young, 38 is just too young, and I think we all have a idea what it could be that is the cause of death. Which is very sad.

I was never a big fan of Slipknot tell around 2005, I sat down and listened to a few albums, and after a few weeks, I thought they were a great band.

Paul's bass playing is something that always caught my ear, his bass lines were very very good.

I never got to see Slipknot live, but a few friends have, and said they put on a hell of a show, and they are quite the experience live.

My condolences to Paul's family, and the other Slipknot bandmates.

It has not been a good year for the heavy metal community. First we lose Type O Negative frontman and bassist Peter Steele, then on Sunday May 16th we lost a metal god, Ronnie James Dio, and now Paul Gray.

Rest In Peace Paul Gray, you will be missed.

Rest In Peace Ronnie James Dio

What can I really say right now.....I am sitting here, still in shock. Its hard to even believe what has happened

Today has been tough day in the heavy metal community.

Today we lost Ronnie James Dio.

When I first heard the news last night, and finding out it was a hoax, but heard he is not in the best of health, I was worried, but I didn't expect to hear it today that he passed on from stomach cancer.

I remember the first time I heard Dio's vocals. It was on the song Stand Up And Shout. Back when I was 11 years old. I was amazed, and instantly a fan.

Now I age 21, 10 years later, and we are saying are goodbyes to a heavy metal legend.

typing this right now, is hard. I never really had a musician effect me like this. Yeah when Dimebag Darrell died, I was sad, and I have all the respect in the world to Dime, but I was a huge Dio fan. Right now its tough to listen to any Dio, 80's Black Sabbath, Heaven and Hell, and even Rainbow, without getting upset.

Ronnie James Dio was a smart guy, a very smart guy, and I was I would of had the privilage to see him peform live. Sadly I won't get to.

My thoughts, prayers, and condolences go out to his wife Wendy, his family, his friends, bandmates, and anyone who got to know Ronnie James Dio, and to everyone in the heavy metal community who is effected by this.

I never thought this day would come, this was too soon. Atleast he is not suffering anymore, from such a hurtful sickness.

I will say this, this hits close to home, My grandmother (my dad's mom) passed away from pancreatic/stomach cancer a few years back. So this hits me close to home for me, but Dio was a hero of mine, so this is very upsetting.

In closing, I want everyone to remember Dio for his awesome music, his awesome performances, and his awesome song lyrics. The guy was simply amazing.

Rest In Peace Ronnie James Dio, you are a legend, a metal god, and you will be never forgotten.

Just a little update of what I have been doing, and the reason why I haven't been posting any new reviews.

I have been very busy. What I mean by that is. Other things, I have another hobby which some of you know. I like to film auto racing events. I am very focused on that this year.

As for a new review. Well I got the footage and commentary recorded for the video. So this week sometime a new review will be released. The review will be Biker Mice From Mars for the Super Nintendo, and the Nintendo DS. So I guess you can call it a double review :)

Like I said in a recent videos. The reviews won't be coming out as fast as usual. Especially when I am busy with other things.

I am also doing a little bit of work this week with my dad, some landscaping work at a house. So I will be busy with that as well.

So here it is 3:16AM, A bit ironic huh?

The reason I say that is because, I just got done watching Stone Cold Steve Austin's newest film Damage.

Now we all know who Steve Austin is, from his career in the WWE, and we all know of his first film called The Condemned.

Well The Condemned I thought was a pretty damn good movie. So tonight/this morning, I decided to sit down and watch Damage. I have heard quite a bit on this movie, and I tell ya what, I been hearing good about it.

Now I have read a few movie reviews about this movie, and I tell you what, movie critics don't know anything. They don't know their ass from a hole in the ground. Seriously. All they care about are movies like Slumdog Millionare, or Twilight, or garbage like that. Movies I could care less about.

Now if you don't know what Damage is about, here is a little rundown of what the movie is about:

An ex-con(played by Steve Austin)battles it out in the cage to pay for the operation that would save the daughter of his victim. Along the way he finds fatherly love, and friendship, in the most unlikely of places.

Wait a minute...Fatherly love? I thought it was just caring about people.

Now I am not going to do a written review. I am going to save it for a video review, but I want to say this. Damage is a awesome film, and another great film from Stone Cold Steve Austin, there is alot of action in this film, and there is a good storyline behind it.

All and all, it is a film that everyone should check out, especially if your a fan of Steve Austin.

If I had to rate the film, I would give it a 9/10. Go check it out.

Scorpions - Sting In The Tail CD Review:

So I just listened to the new Scorpions album. I can tell you this, I am a huge Scorpions fan. Ever since I heard them, I have always liked their stuff. Great band, with tons of great songs, and so many kickass albums.Now The Scorpions have been around for many years. Well to be exact, 45 years, but The Scorpions never got big until the late 70's, early 80's.

Now, I first heard The Scorpions at age 9, and like everyone else, it was the song "Rock You Like A Hurricane" of course I was hooked to the band, and at the time, I was listening to bands like AC/DC, ZZ Top, Rush, Blue Oyster Cult and a lot of classic rock bands.

Now a lot of bands have careers spanning over 30 years. Look at AC/DC, KISS, Judas Priest, and ZZ Top, great bands in heavy metal and hard rock, and are still going to this day. Which I think is very cool for a band to go 30 years, and still be a top band.Well for you metal heads and hard rock fans, A lot of you know The Scorpions have released a new album. titled "Sting In The Tail" the album was released on March 23rd, in the United States.

Now this is also The Scorpion's last album. Now when I heard that this was their last album, I was a bit shocked, but, I respect their decision to kind of go into retirement. I mean its a tough road to be on, being in a top band, for so many years. At least we have the music, to remember them by, and you never know, when they might even come out of retirement. Look how many times KISS has done it, then again, KISS is pretty much a money making band.

So this new album is out, and I got my hands on the album. I sat back today, grabbed something cold to drink, and listened to this album. Now the last Scorpions album Humanity: Hour I, was a very good album, at least in my opinion.

Ok lets talk about this new album. Now I am not going to go through every track, but some of my favorites, although every song is very good on this album. The first song on here is "Raised on Rock" this song, right off the bat, kicks you in the head, with some good ol hard rock, I like it.

The funny thing is, The Scorpions have always stayed true to their sound, they have never really changed it. That’s what I like about this band. The first song on this, its like damn, is this the ">
The next song I want to talk about is actually the 2nd track, and the title track of this album. The song is called "Sting In The Tail" Now a lot of albums, a band will start out with a upbeat song, then the next track or 2, will be on the slower side. Well not this album. This song is badass as well. Upbeat, and kicks ass.

Alright, now the next song I want to talk about is, Track 4, and it is titled "The Good Die Young". This song tunes it down a bit, kind of starts out slow. Which I really like. Klaus Meine's vocals on this song, are very good, and this song is probably my favorite of the whole album. I love this song. This song also has Finnish symphonic metal singer, Tarja Turunen, doing the backing vocals on this song. Which is pretty badass.

Alright, the final song I want to talk about is, "Turn You On", Not to be confused with the Accept song called "Turn Me On". This song starts out, with a drum beat, that sounds like it is set in a low bit rate, it sounds like something you hear on AM radio, but gets into the song, and once again its one of them upbeat Scorpion songs. This song, is awesome, and very catchy.

If I had to rate "Sting In The Tail" I would give it a 10/10, a awesome Scorpions album, If your a big fan of the Scorpions, you will love this album. I am very impressed by this album. The Scorpions are a band that has hardly disappointed me.The sad thing is, this is the final album, and The Scorpions have had a awesome career. They should be proud of all they have achieved, and they should be proud of their fan base. They are going on a final tour, that should last through 2012, possibly 2013.

I do hope they come to the Washington State area for a show, because I will be getting tickets to see this band. I have never seen them, I have heard they put on a damn good show.If you haven't picked up your copy of "Sting In The Tail" I suggest you do it, its a great album, and a great farewell album from a kickass German hard rock/heavy metal band.All I can say is to the Scorpions is thank you, for all the years they have put in, for playing some kickass songs. Their music will live on, after the band goes into retirement, and I wish them the best.

At a later time, I will probably do a video review, but due to Youtube being picky with using clips of songs. I will have to wait. I may do one, and post it to ScrewAttack, and then throw a link up.

Finally beaten GTA 4

Yeah I know it took me a while to beat it, but I finally beaten the game.

The game was a very very good game, with a very good storyline. I will tell you this though, the ending was kind of predictable. Especially when your goint to Roman's wedding. I figured something like this was gonna happen. Well I will be doing a review on the game at a later time. but once again, the GTA series has never let me down. Even with games like Vice City Stories, although that wasn't the best, I still had fun playing it.Now its time to move on to the other GTA 4 games. and check them out. So far, I own every GTA games except for the 2 episode packs they released. I tell you what though, I am a huge Rockstar Games fan, I love alot of their games. From GTA, to Max Payne, to Midnight Club. I am a big fan of Red Dead Revolver, Bully, and probably the game series that has caused alot of controveresy, Manhunt and Manhunt 2.

I am a huge fan of the Manhunt games as well, Especially the first one.I do hope a GTA 5 comes out, Manhunt 3, Bully 2, Red Dead Revolver 2, and Max Payne 3 comes out soon. Although I did hear a Bully 2, Red Dead Revolver 2, and Max Payne 3 are coming out. I am still waiting to hear a announcement for Manhunt 3. Hopefully they will make it better then Manhunt 2.Alright thats my rant for the day, If you can call it a rant hahaha. I wasn't going to give any spoilers out for all of you who have never played GTA 4, but the game is great, so if you have never played it, you should check it out. Very cool game.

Super Bowl 44 TODAY

Today is the Super Bowl, and if your a sports fan, and a fan of Football, you should know that this is one of the biggest games ever in the history of football. The shitty thing is, My Seattle Seahawks are not in the Super Bowl. They are known as the Seattle Seachickens, lol

Well, I am exciting for this years Super Bowl for a few reasons.

1. The Pittsburgh Steelers are not in the Super Bowl this year.

2. The New England Patriots are not in the Super Bowl this year.

3. The New Orlean Saints ARE in the Super Bowl this year.

My pick for the Super Bowl:

Thats right, the New Orlean Saints. I hope they win, they deserve to win it, and this being their first Super Bowl, it will be epic if they win.

As for the Indianapolis Colts, I do like the team, but they have won a few Super Bowls already. They won Super Bowl 5, back in 1971, and they won Super Bowl 41 back in 2007.

Well, I wish Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints good luck, and hopefully they will be taking that Vince Lombardi trophy back to New Orleans, Louisiana with them.
